Wellness Exam / Consultation

We believe that preventative care is one of the most important aspects of maintaining your pet’s health: no matter the species. Preventing diseases allows your pet to maintain better overall health and well-being. Looking at individual lifestyles and risk factors will help our veterinary team understand what is best for your pet. Wellness exams may include vaccinations and preventive care such as parasite control (fleas, ticks, worms). Spaying or neutering, dental care, and regular blood and fecal screenings for common health issues are also essential. If you feel that your pet is unwell or have any specific concerns regarding the health of your pet, we are happy to set up a consultation to complete a physical exam and discussion about possible treatments and care.

Dental Care

By 3 years of age, most dogs and cats have some level of periodontal disease. Not always apparent to owners; periodontal disease can cause oral pain, infection, inflammation and other health problems. This can directly affect the pet’s quality of life. Signs of discomfort can include: eating irregularly, finicky eater, bloody drool and/or loss of appetite. After a complete dental procedure, many owners report a “whole new pet” – one who is happier and more active.

We can advise clients how to best care for their pet’s teeth using specialty dental diets, brushing with pet tooth paste, water additives and mouth rinses.

If required, we are able to preform complete dental procedures including dental radiographs and routine oral surgery.

We also offer dental care for many exotic species including rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and degus.

Surgery Including Spays & Neuters

We understand that surgery can be scary for both you and your pet. We do our best to ensure that we make you as comfortable as possible with your pets’ procedure by addressing all your questions or concerns. Our veterinarians provide an update after the surgery is completed and your discharge is scheduled with a veterinary technician, to review home care and answer all your questions.

Some of the common surgeries we perform are:

  • Neuters – dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets

  • Spays – dogs, cats and rabbits

  • Soft tissue surgeries – lump removals, wound repair,

  • Abdominal surgeries – foreign body removal, bladder surgery
