We know this is a very stressful time for everyone as we transition through a rapidly changing environment with COVID-19. We want to reassure you that we will continue to service our clients and their fur/feathered/scaly babies.
We feel very strongly that we must do absolutely everything we can to protect our team, reduce the spread of the virus and at the same time make sure we continue to take extra special care of your pet babies. In order to do this, we have made the decision to lock our doors and completely reduce client contact within the hospital. We have already implemented “curbside” food and medication pick up. (Orders to be paid for via e-transfers or over the phone credit card transactions and when you arrive at the clinic to pick these up we request that you call from the parking lot and we will place your items on the back step.) Please note that our purchasing company is experiencing some back up (but not a shortage!) resulting in a slight delay in delivery of food. Please do not order more than a two month supply at a time so that everyone’s beloved pet has access to their proper diet. Your patience and understanding are very much appreciated.
Regarding appointments, we request that you call from the parking lot when you arrive for your appointment. We will take a history over the phone (or in the parking lot, from a distance if the weather is nice 🙂 and a team member will bring your pet inside the building for the scheduled examination/procedure. Please rest assured that we will treat your pet like they are our own and the doctor will still be discussing everything with you. In the event that you have to make the very difficult decision to humanely euthanize your beloved pet, you will absolutely be allowed to be present. A team member will meet you in the parking lot and escort you in to the building.
We will be reducing our hours to 9am to 6pm for the next few weeks. Our staff will be splitting into two teams, doing separate days in order to limit contact with each other, so please be patient if your favourite doctor or technician is not in every day.
Please always call ahead before you come to the clinic for any reason.
If you are at all immunocompromised, over the age of 70 or have underlying respiratory issues, please let us know and we will make the appropriate arrangements to take care of your pet. (We are currently investigating some telemedicine options) Your health is a top priority to us!
We will not be booking any new elective appointments (annual check-ups, nail trims etc.) or elective surgeries (spays, neuters) for the next several weeks. Please note that time sensitive appointments, such as puppy and kitten boosters will take place as usual.
